Wow – all I can say is, WOW.
It’s been an epic couple of months here in the studio with lots of emotion; some good, some bad.
You know those people that are full of good ideas and life hacks and seem to cope well with everything? On the outside, everyone thinks that’s me. I’m quietly tumbling, and screaming on the inside most of the time as though I were a paper boat sailing on the open sea in the middle of a tsunami!
This months’ life hack from Amy – back it up. Your computer – back all of it up! Three weeks, two days, 14 hours and 37 minutes ago, I discovered that my hard drive had been inexplicably wiped. 3 years of designs, 3 years of uni work, 3 years of financial documents, 3 years of my life – disappeared! I almost felt the need to wander outside to see if Walter White and Jesse Pinkman were sitting outside in a van with a giant magnet…
I cried a bit – okay, a lot… but reminded myself that life doesn’t have a back button and the only way things were going to get better is if I moved forward. Onwards and upwards, yes? YES!
Spring has sprung here, and it’s one of my favourite times of the year. You may have noticed from my Instagram feed that I’ve been pottering in the garden a bit more, and market season has started up again so my weekends are filled with fantastic places and gorgeous people gathering together.
Like many others, I’m far more inspired in Spring than I am through Winter. The difference between sitting in the studio with the window open as opposed to curling up over the heater or the difference between fruit infused iced teas and hot chocolate; each thing seems to bring a fresh new outlook and creative inspiration.
You may have also noticed that some of the classes have changed. The winter projects have been retired for the year and some fresh new classes have come out to play. I’ll be posting new classes in the next week too, so keep an eye out for them!
The most popular new class is by far the Cloth Pots class. These pots are really fun and addictive to make and are ideal for displays, storage and fancying up your pot plants for the sunny weather. Everything you need is provided in the class fee, and there’s a great range of fabrics to choose from.
You might have also noticed that the “Shop” section of Amy Kallissa has changed a little too. Over the next few days, I’ll be listing some of my ready-made items for sale and I’ve also listed a range of my Liberty of London magnetic needle minders for sale also.
I’ve got lots of markets on over the next few weekends – they’re always a great day out with lots of things to see and do, be sure to pop in and say hi! You can see where I’m at over here on the Markets page.
For now – I’m off to work on a few designs that have been waiting to be finalised for over a month now! Catch up on some sewing and photograph some class samples and ready-made items to list later on tonight hopefully!
