Cedric is your stereotypical hipster, although don’t tell him that, as far as he’s concerned, he’s a complete individual who does not subscribe to mainstream views. He fashions cushions out of scarves found in op-shops, manages to attend the opening of every new pop-up store within a 10 km radius of the CBD, drinks pumpkin chai lattes with a pinch of nutmeg and enjoys going to Bingo with his posse.
By day, Cedric runs his own cafe ’Salt & Riddle’ where customers flock to experience his famous deconstructed hot chocolates, Foie Gras Poutine and Trout Ice-Cream;
Cedric was the last to join the Namesake crew, but by no means least! He’s loosely based around every cat that I’ve ever owned had the pleasure of serving… I’ve had cuddly cats, aloof cats, a**hole cats, friendly cats, big cats, little cats, even cats that slept in hats – the only thing that all of them have had in common, they’re all their own cat and their independence is key.
Cedric was the hardest to design. I didn’t want to give him any features that overly typecast him. What makes Cedric the most Hipster of them all is his non-conformity – he’s pretty bad-as*!
Cedric is so hardcore in fact, that he carries his goldfish thermos with him everywhere he goes! He thinks it’s probably one of his greatest op-shop finds to date!
Cedric’s favourite saying, ‘Goal Digger’ features the fun new ombre stitching technique that I’ve designed specially for the occasion and is really fun to stitch. You can watch the stitch tutorial on my freebies page soon!
You can find Cedric’s pattern here or at your local fabric & stitchy store.
